About the Role Our partner primary school in Kirkby is seeking a compassionate and proactive EYFS SEN Assistant to support children within Nursery and Reception. This role is ideal for someone with experience in early years and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, including communication and language needs, ASD, global developmental delay, sensory needs, and SEMH. You will work as part of a supportive early years team, helping to embed routines, promote engagement, and create a nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 or small-group SEN support within Nursery or Reception. * Implement Individual Support Plans and contribute to EHCP targets. * Support children’s communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and play-based learning. * Use EYFS strategies such as modelling, sensory tools, and visual supports to enhance participation. * Contribute to observations and progress notes for teachers and SENCOs. * Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and confidence in young learners. * Assist with personal care routines where required. * Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment aligned with the EYFS framework. Requirements * Experience working with SEN children in EYFS or early years settings. * Strong understanding of EYFS child development. * Calm, patient, and nurturing approach. * Reliability and flexibility to work within an agency role. * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
