This job is advertised on behalf of our client. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a large Mechanical and Electrical contractor based in Leeds. They have a full order book into 2027 and beyond, they are looking to increase their staff size as a result of this. Key responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance (such as CDM regulations), managing multiple tasks, and working with senior engineers and suppliers. Educational requirements are typically a degree or HND in mechanical engineering or a related field, and strong CAD and IT skills are essential. This role is also suited to someone who is currently working as a site manager and is looking to step up into a more office based role. Key responsibilities * Design and documentation: Create manufacturing drawings, develop mechanical components, and help produce process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). * Project support: Assist in the delivery of projects by coordinating with senior engineers and other stakeholders. * Technical tasks: Conduct asset condition surveys, prepare technical reports, and support the production of specifications and procurement documentation. * Safety and quality: Ensure compliance with safety regulations like CDM, and maintain quality assurance standards. * Procurement and support: Work with suppliers, set up parts in ERP systems, and provide technical support to production teams. Required skills and qualifications * Education: A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. * Technical skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office. * Project management: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and a proactive, results-oriented approach. * Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Teamwork: Ability to work closely with a team, communicate effectively, and support senior engineers.
