This role sits within the Military Machining area of our Wolverhampton site, supporting critical manufacturing processes across the GDS value stream. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting day-to-day operations, problem-solving, and driving process improvements to ensure quality and delivery targets are consistently met. What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like? Provide proactive line-side production support to meet business demands, working closely with Operations and Production Control teams. Support quality investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Highlight, plan and deliver continuous improvement activities within the value stream. Apply tools such as PFMEA to reduce process risk and improve system performance. Manage relationships with equipment suppliers and support make-vs-buy decisions. Support manufacturing for military programmes.What will you bring to the role? Essential skills: Experience within a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation. Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams. Desirable skills: Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Siemens NX. Knowledge of metrology, measurement methods, and the use of CMMs. Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with Design for Manufacture and Automation principles
